The Anadarko Police Department is committed to exceptional service and to enhancing the quality of life for all members and visitors of our community.

Through the application of the core values of Professionalism, Integrity, Accountability, and Compassion, the men and women of the Anadarko Police Department seek to provide exceptional service to the citizens of our proud community.  We consistently strive to serve our residents by proactively addressing crime, preserving the peace, protecting life and property, and by remaining committed to establishing partnerships within the community.

The APD consists of four divisions operating under the leadership and direction of Chief Eric Harlan and Assistant Chief Dustan Chandler.  The divisions are the Administrative Division, the Patrol Division, the Investigations Division, and the Records Division.  The responsibilities of each are listed below.

Administrative Division
The Administrative Division is responsible for administrative functions of the Police Department to include, internal affairs, policy, and procedures, oversight of the department's budgeting, purchasing, and inventory control.  The Administrative Division is staffed with the Chief and Assistant Chief of Police, one School Resource Officer, and two Animal Control Officers.

Patrol Division
The Patrol Division is responsible for emergency field response to citizen's requests for service, conducting preliminary field investigations , and for problem solving related to repeat calls, hazards, condition conducive to crime, fear factors, and other conditions that deter the creating and maintenance of safe neighborhoods and traffic control, and enforcement.  The Patrol Division is the backbone of the Police Department and is staffed with a Commander, four Sergeants, two Corporals, 7 Police Officers, and one  K9 (Pasco)
Investigations Division
The Investigations Division is responsible for follow-up investigative work on all types of possible crimes, crime scene investigations, evidence and evidence room management, and for developing information that leads to narcotics type investigations.  The Investigations Division is staffed with a Commander and two Detectives.

Records Division
The records division is responsible for the processing, storing, and retrieving departmental investigative reports, answering calls that come into the Police Department.  The Records Division is staffed with a Records Division Specialists.

The  Anadarko Police Department is a member of the Caddo County (SRT)Special Response Team and the District 6 Task Force.  We are actively involved in community policing with a full-time community-policing officer, a full-time bike patrol program, and our K9 unit.  Recently a “ride-a-long” program was implemented by the department and approved by City Council.  Citizens of the community are encouraged to get involved.
