CODE ENFORCEMENT DEPARTMENT
It is our goal to do our best to maintain the City of Anadarko in a clean, healthy and safe environment for the Citizens of Anadarko.
The Code Enforcement Department is responsible for the current and future planning and zoning activities within the City Of Anadarko, in addition to the administration and enforcement of Building Codes and Ordinances. The City of Anadarko currently operates under the International Building Code, Fire Prevention Code, Plumbing Code, Fuel Gas Code, Energy Conservation Code, Residential Code, and Property Maintenance Code 2009 and the 2011 NEC Electrical Code.
The Code Enforcement Department is responsible for the issuance of permits’ for building, electrical, plumbing and mechanical permits and the inspections of code compliance throughout the building process.
Additionally, the Code Enforcement Department is responsible for the licensing of all General Contractors, Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing contractors, inspection of all new construction, remodeling and all other work for which a permit is required. This department is also responsible for enforcement of nuisance ordinances for the City of Anadarko. The Enforcement Department is located on the first floor of City Hall.
The Code Enforcement Department is the responsible liaison for the Planning commission, Historical Preservation Committee and the Airport Board, with meeting monthly if required.

The Code of Ordinances for the City of Anadarko are available online here. Hard copies are available for review in the City Clerk’s office.
The Key Is Communication!
When a public nuisance or other code violation exists, Code Enforcement is willing to work with responsible parties to achieve correction, but communication is essential! Remember, code compliance is a vital part of a safe, healthy living environment and a prosperous community!
